ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP...
Come and join us in this wonderful online workshop where you will be introduced to the traditional visible mending technique of Darning.
We will teach you the art of darning while making this beautiful patch. You will also be able to use the new skills you learn during this workshop to repair any damaged or old clothing you may have.
ALL proceeds of the workshop will be donated to Black Visions Collective - for more information please visit www.blackvisionsmn.org to find out more about the organisation.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN...
We will teach you how to create a super nice ‘Dog’s tooth’ pattern through a weaving technique using black and white, cotton and wool yarn. You will create the warp and weft to weave in the centre of your fabric where the heart shape is cut out. Creating gorgeous fringing at the edges of your woven heart.
After the 1 hour class, you will leave the workshop feeling inspired to continue fixing and rejuvenating all of your favourite pieces or you may simply want to customise your jumpers to make them a bit more exciting through the use of darning.
You can attach the patch to a cushion, displayed on the wall in an embroidery hoop or even safety pinned on to your clothing! We will show you how to attach your new patch using a hand sewing technique before the class is over.
All materials will be supplied by Restoration London and sent out to you in a pack.
It's likely that you won't finish the darning heart patch within the hour but we will be sure to show you absolutely everything you need to know and will also provide you with a recording of the workshop so that you can refer back to it at a time that’s most convenient for you!
As mentioned above all of the proceeds for this workshop will be donated to Black Visions Collective - thank you so much for showing your support.
